Our New Neighbor

This fat porcupine just wandered through our back yard. Neither of us had ever seen one in the wild; it was kind of crazy to see this bizarre creature on the lawn. The porcupine had sort of a slow, purposeful, lumbering walk. When we came outside to investigate, the porcupine stopped briefly, took a couple more lumbering steps and paused when Jesse's camera flashed. It then resolutely headed over the knoll and disappeared into the tall grasses.
